Enjoyable afternoon in town today with littlest. We hung out at the Maritime Museum, checked out architectural features at the Castlegate and wandered excitedly around a toy shop. Guess which one was her choice? After our last afternoon date where she insisted on dragging me to KFC, nothing wrong with this, but I felt it was time to up the ante a bit. So we headed to one of my favourite haunts, Madame Mews inside Aberdeen Market. Long time followers may remember I shared my thoughts on the market a couple of months back, so I’ll spare you those meanderings again. Of course, if you’re interested you can always scroll back and read them. Anyway, down to the important stuff. Decided to skip the pad thai this time around and shared a few smaller dishes. The moo ping was superb as always, sticky, slightly sweet and delicious. If you go to the Thai and don’t order moo ping, do you even Thai bro? Chicken satay was similarly awesome, the antidote to so many unexciting satay starters from the Chinese takeaway. These were big and meaty, and the peanut sauce was delicious. The third dish was chicken spring rolls. I was going to order something a bit more unusual, but I took littlest’s tastes into consideration and played out safe. Not much I can say, they were chicken spring rolls, nothing earth shattering but pleasant enough. Even though she preferred the moo ping! Always awesome food and great value for money, if you’ve never been here then check it out. I’ll no doubt be back very soon.
